Biography

Shaughnessy Law opened its doors on Lumsden Road in Brandon and Churchview Drive, Park Square in Lithia, Florida in March 2006.  Ms. Shaughnessy started her law firm with an emphasis on Family Law and Real Estate Law, but soon discovered that the needs of the community required an expansion of services.  Clients were able to bring their legal needs and concerns to Ms. Shaughnessy regarding a host of categories including, but certainly not limited to, Bankruptcy Law (Chapters 7 and 13), Business Law, Civil Litigation, Collection, Contract Law, Estate Planning, Probate Law, as well as the original Family and Real Estate Law.  Her Title, Closing and Escrow Services are used by bank managers, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and clients who pursue sale by owner.  Her Real Estate Law services include evictions, foreclosures, contractual disputes, short sales negotiations, and loan modifications.  And her Estate Law services include probates and trust administration as well as advising individual clients on estate planning including the preparation of trusts, wills, heath care surrogates, living wills, and powers of attorney.

Recognizing that the need for her services had expanded with clients coming from not only Hillsborough County, the county where the firm is located, but also Polk, Pinellas, and Pasco counties, Ms. Shaughnessy moved her office to its current location at the Stonewood Business Center on Bloomingdale Avenue in Brandon in 2008.  This location is well situated to service her client base, as well as to give her bigger offices that addressed the needs of a growing business.
